Dream incubation

The idea of dream incubation, is not new by any stretch of the imagination. In ancient Mesopotamia, it was mostly used to gain knowledge of the future. During later periods, it was used for healing. People went to temples and slept with the intention of receiving a dream from the gods that would provide healing or an answer to a perplexing question.

For those who aren't familiar with the term, dream incubation is dreaming with a specific purpose.Maybe there's a question you have and can't seem to find the answer in your waking life. Perhaps, you have trouble remembering your dreams period. There are several things you can do.

You can incubate a specific idea in your dreams by writing a note about what you specifically want to know. You can address the note to your subconscious, God or your dream fairy--whatever works for you. You can make a request for specific answers in your dreams, or simply to be able to remember whatever dream you have (if recall is an issue for you.) Read it over before going to sleep. Place the note under your pillow with the request to recall upon waking.

Another method is to imagine a ball of golden light. Visualize your problem as best as you can. Place the problem as you see it into the ball of light. Ask for an answer. Take the ball of light and place it at the base of your neck. Concentrate on the question as you fall asleep. When you awake, visualize the golden ball in front of you holding your solution.

Lastly, you can fill a glass with water. Drink half the water, setting the intention that you will remember your dreams when you drink the other half. Upon waking, finish the rest of the water and see what comes to you.

Keep in mind that the manifestations of dreams requires dedication and faith. The clearer you are when you set your intentions, the better your success. More dream incubation ideas to come. Happy dreaming.
